Spring is Here!

Spring is here and the fruit trees are in blossom and looking very pretty. Just a reminder to us that lots of gorgeous stonefruit are coming once again. Peaches and nectarines as well as apricots will be ripening in November/December through to March, April.

Have you tried a Pacific Rose Apple, or a Rosy Glow? We also have Pink Lady’s, Fuji, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, and Braeburn, etc. New seasons pears are also available Packhams, Howell, Beurre Bosc, Corellas, Honey pears and Nashi. There are also plenty of juicing apples and pears at $1.60kg or $14 for a 10kg box.

Victorian Strawberries and Raspberries have arrived and are sensational despite the drought. There are also succulent fresh Blueberries, and as always you can chose frozen berries if you prefer.

September was a month with lots of colds and flu around. To combat them Navel Oranges are still available, as well as Lemons and Grapefruit to name a few fruits that all help to supply our bodies with Vitamin C.

Did you know that Monavie is a wonderful alternative to giving your dogs glucosamine. We have an old dog that has Monavie every day and he just loves it, he laps it up. 5ml is all that he needs and it helps ease his stiff joints. Talk about a spoilt dog. Our dogs love eating fruit so taking Monavie is not a problem.

Come in and visit. Enjoy a nice cup of coffee, or a cold drink whilst you browse the ever changing array of produce. We also stock all those extras you may need. Spices, pasta and pasta sauces, jams and chutneys, fruit cordials, fudge, chocolate shiraz, and more.

Have you checked out the fridge?. There you will find smoked chicken roll, Meredith Cheeses, mushroom pâté, trout pâtés, dessert yoghurts, fresh pasta, amongst others. And then there is the freezer, Rickett's Point Ice Cream, Yarra Valley Pasta, Yarra Valley Ice Cream.

The Aumann Family Orchard and Fruit Specialty Shop are located on the Donvale side of Warrandyte, 25km east of the City of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Warrandyte, an historical gold town, is situated on the Yarra River and is considered the gateway to the Yarra Valley.

The Orchard was established in the early 1900's and is currently farmed and managed by the third generation of Aumanns - Bill, Richard, and Barry, and their wives Marj, Robyn and Michele.

Over fifty different varieties of peaches and nectarines are grown at the sixty acre orchard. We also produce a selection of plums, apricots and pears, along with many different types of apples. We delight in producing different varieties of fruit, from the latest "Zee Sweet" peaches and nectarines, to traditional favorites such as blood plums, clingstone peaches and Granny Smith apples. Check the seasonal availability of your favorite fruit!

When in season, all of this fruit is available for sale in our Fruit Speciality Shop. The shop is a Direct from the Grower "farmers market" style store, which opened in the 1960's. In season, we stock a large selection of our own fresh fruit, as well as a range of fresh vegetables and gourmet products such as homemade jams, chutney, honey, ice cream and more. The shop is open seven days a week.

We also prepare and pack "hand selected" fruit gift packs and Christmas hampers, an original and interesting gift idea. The packs are particularly popular with our overseas visitors, many of whom wish to take a selection of fruit home with them.
